Methodology
Signals, Patterns & Insights
How small changes in human behaviour become strategic intelligence.
Most important changes do not begin as trends. They begin quietly, with small changes in what people do.
Quettor detects those early changes, connects related behaviours, and interprets what they may mean. The process is simple:
Signal
Something is changing.
Pattern
Several signals connect.
Insight
We understand why the change matters.

What is a Signal?
Imagine that more and more people start rearranging their wake times and morning schedules once they commit to a regular exercise habit. Some wake earlier. Others push back other commitments to protect a workout window before the rest of the day starts.
Quettor detected:
“People rearrange wake times and morning schedules when they commit to regular exercise habits.”
This is a Signal.
A Signal is an observable indication that a human behaviour may be starting to change.
What is a Pattern?
On its own, one Signal about wake times is a single data point. But other related Signals kept appearing — home workout adoption, changing commute patterns, how people schedule the rest of their day around fitness. Individually, these look like different Signals. But Quettor detected they were connected.
Pattern:
“Exercise commitment reshapes daily routines”
A Pattern emerges when multiple Signals begin pointing toward the same broader behavioural change.
What is an Insight?
Detecting the Pattern is not enough. The next question is: why does this matter?
From this Pattern, Quettor produced an Insight:
“Fitness Moves Home, Routines Bend Around It”
This shift has real implications for gyms, wearables, home-fitness equipment, nutrition and how employers think about wellness.
An Insight interprets what a behavioural change could mean for markets, industries and organisations.

From a Signal to Strategic Intelligence
Quettor does not treat every observation as a trend. A Signal can appear and disappear — most do. Only when related, repeated evidence keeps accumulating can a Signal contribute to a Pattern.
And only after interpreting what a Pattern actually implies can it become an Insight. Nothing skips a stage, and nothing is escalated before the evidence justifies it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a behavioral signal?
A behavioural signal is an observable indication that how people act may be starting to change — one specific, evidence-backed observation, never a theory or a prediction.
What is the difference between a Signal and a Pattern?
A Signal is a single observation. A Pattern only emerges once several independent Signals start pointing toward the same broader behavioural shift — Quettor never treats one Signal as a Pattern on its own.
What is the difference between a Pattern and an Insight?
A Pattern shows that a broader behaviour is changing. An Insight interprets why that change matters — for markets, industries and organisations.
Is a Signal the same as a trend?
No. A trend is usually already visible and widely reported. A Signal is detected while a change is still small and easy to miss — most Signals never become anything bigger, and Quettor never inflates one into a trend before the evidence justifies it.
How does Quettor detect behavioral change?
Quettor continuously scans real digital conversations, filters out noise, and only escalates an observation into a Signal, Pattern or Insight once the evidence meets a defined confidence threshold.
Are Quettor Signals, Patterns and Insights free?
Yes. The entire Knowledge Graph — every Signal, Pattern and Insight — is free to explore. Membership unlocks the personal layer on top: saving intelligence, building your Intelligence Memory, and asking your own research Questions.
